CHARLES, GIVEN CRAYONS

You’ve drawn me quite short

with only a few strands of hair,

mouth drawn downwards at the corners,

eyes wide with bewilderment,

nose speckled as the moon.

Don’t make fun of old people.

One day that’s likely

to happen to you

Next picture you color like that

I’ll bloody your nose

and gnarl your toes.
