Just imagine:
On the other side
of the highway
prairie dogs nest peacefully
in burrows deep under sage
After the thaw,
they’ve got
eagles and coyotes
always on their tail
But not now,
not when it’s
their time to sleep
I, too,
could use a little shut eye
and at least one day
without someone riding my ass
