Today I’ll ride my bike

It’s a date w/ the ocean

The Rastafarian sells his incense

The gangsters, Latino boys

crack jokes & look at girls

The psychic wants to read my palm

The drunken bearded man strums his guitar

The juggler w/knives gets my vote

The man w/ the blue bird on his shoulder eats

a lunch he put together from trash cans

The Hindu man with the turban and thick beard

waves chimes in the air

The homeless set up shop in the knoll

The wind blows my hair on my face

& as the sun sets, the day closes

I rest alone taking everything in,

wishing I was part of the scenery
